Pretty fun to play with exhibit, maybe a bit annoying output sounds if you're not the one playing, but still a cool project with important learning outcomes.

Illuminating Vibrations

Autumn 2014, GSA

The aim was to create both interactive and educational musical instrument suitable for children. The tricky bit was that it had to be based on laser technology due to 2015 being UNESCO Year of Light.

 

Our solution involved a static laser beam, a bowl full of tonic (due to its quinine), a

phosphorescent semi translucent surface, and a camera underneath.
