1:1 scale model of 1/2 of our idea we were quite happy with... and quite a few 3D printed models.
I was really happy to get the opportunity to work in a mixed team and actually make a connection with people doing another course at GSA. Not only was it interesting meeting them and hearing about their everyday struggles, but working with them was really insightful as well.
Andreas and I felt a bit lost
We had to come up with a joint for flat wooden frame, it had to connect 8 pieces of wood. We went away from the traditional and decided on new modular concept so it could be used in temporary and semi-permanent structures.. We managed to build 1:1 model of half of it - connecting 4 pieces, since it required a lot of advanced welding, and we were just learning :)

This is our joint in context. This 8 metre span would consists of 116 identical nodes and about 400 identical pieces of timber. While there are a lot, there would be only two different pieces.
3d printed scaled model of the complete joint.
